This Olympic-size swimming pool can be installed in any lake. After all, every swimming pool is just a linear element, with a start and finish point. The design is such that you can change clothes on the shore, then store your belongings in the floor lockers underneath the pier, and take a shower afterwards. Each swimming lane is 50 metres long and numbered. The lanes run from the pier to the yellow concrete turnaround blocks, which display the lane number. Swimmers can climb onto the blocks to take a breather or enjoy the view. Moreover, the back of the blocks provides mooring facilities for small boats. The turnaround blocks are yellow for the swimmers’ safety, just as the yellow buoys that warn sailors not to enter the area between buoy and shore. This design uses minimal resources to create an outdoor swimming pool with Olympic flair.
